Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief

By Seven Brown

Backstage at a Bryant Park fashion show there is never a dull moment, Friday afternoon was no exception. Everywhere I looked there was hair, make up, clothes, nails … the works. This particular show was special to me because I was able to be a part of something really big that will help many people in such a huge way. For the fourth year in a row, Naomi Campbell rolled out the red carpet and hosted the star studded runway event–
Fashion for Relief.. All day, the energy in the tent was charged with excitement and anticipation as the celebrity cast strut the runway. Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, hosted… designers donated clothing, all to benefit Haiti’s mothers and children. Later this month, the clothing will be auctioned online and 100% of the proceeds and ticket sales go directly to CARE. An organization that fights poverty and defends the dignity of women by empowering women to live, learn and earn. Naomi is a global champion for safe motherhood and serves as ambassador to the White Ribbon Alliance. Some of the sponsors of the night including IMG, NET A PORTER, Maybelline and American Express. Kevin Krier & Associates took on the production duties and Rachel Zoe served as stylist. When it is all said and done 100% of clothing sales, ticket sales, and donations go directly to the charity. Some of the past recipients of Fashion for Relief were victims of Hurricane Katrina, Rotary Flood and Disaster Appeal, and the White Ribbon Alliance. Get your tee-shirts and wear it proudly. Peek backstage, hear what Naomi had to say…
