“…it all depends on what you’re looking at”
Following a successful performance during this year’s in Baltimore nearly two months ago, Brave Soul Collective (BSC) returns to Washington, DC next month with “AESTHETICS: Perception…(& the Eye of the Beholder)”. On Saturday August 7th , BSC will present an afternoon of artistic offerings which will include theatre & spoken word performances, that examine the subject of BEAUTY. Cleverly subtitled “Perception…(& the Eye of the Beholder)” this show’s featured performances will examine the various ways individuals go about the business of identifying, glorifying, and associating themselves with that which we refer to as beautiful. “AESTHETICS” will also serve as BSC’s premiere performance as part of the Inaugural DC Black Theatre festival which promises to be a historic event, showcasing the talents of individuals from the local Washington DC Metropolitan area African-American theatre arts community.
The show will feature new and original works by playwrights , Dyron Holmes, Rashad Moody & Jared Shamberger. Also returning for a second time to perform with BSC is DC native, Cornelius Jones Jr. (Broadway’s The Lion King and FlagBoy). BSC will also have a “BraveSoulGiveaway” of a special BSC gift bag which will include tickets to exclusive upcoming concerts and events in the DC metropolitan area as well as some other great gifts. Raffle tickets for the “BraveSoulGiveaway” can be purchased on the day of the event (CASH ONLY).
