A Dancer's Pride

I was hanging out by myself on the pier writing down some ideas for new projects while reading the newspaper. This particular pier in New York City is very quiet and comforting. I can walk on it and instantly feel like I’m in peace. So when I feel I need some peace and quiet, I will come to this pier and get exactly what I’m looking for.

While lying in the grass I began hearing footsteps. I looked up and there was this half naked dark skinned male strutting down the walkway side of the pier. He didn’t have a shirt on. I could see his boxers. It was quite an unexpected thing to look at when all you wanted to do was enjoy some quiet time on the beach.

He left the pier for a few minutes. I thought I was away from him forever. Then I began to hear a group of French men sitting behind me talking about a man strutting on the other walkway on the same pier. I turned around and there was the same dancer I saw before still strutting. He wasn’t the least bit tired. There was a moment when he stopped and posed in front of the couple. Then he continued his way down the walkway.

For most people, they would look at that person and say that he is making a fool out of himself. No one finds him interesting and all he’s doing is looking for attention. That’s not how I felt when I saw the dancer. I looked at him as a confident person who was going to be with him without a care in the world of what everyone thinks of him. If he wants to strut down the walkway like a shirtless model, he will do it.

Its unusual situations like this dancer that influences me to live the life I truly want to live. I never let others try and control my life neither do I let society define. I do whatever I want with my life and will continue to have pride in it.

My Friend Cornelius Jones Jr is KING!!!

YES, it's true my friend Cornelius Jones Jr is KING!!! Did you know he was in the Broadway production for more than 10 years and the traveled on the road and was featured in the Las Vegas production?

"The Lion King" has dethroned "The Phantom of the Opera" as Broadway's all-time box-office champion. The Disney musical, based on the popular animated movie, has grossed a total of $853.8 million since opening on Broadway in 1997.

The gross figure, which represents Broadway box-office receipts only and not worldwide revenue, was confirmed by a spokeswoman at Disney Theatrical Productions. She said the figure has not been adjusted for inflation.

"Phantom" has grossed approximately $853.1 million since opening in 1988.

The crowning of "The Lion King" as Broadway's new box-office leader comes with a caveat, however. The Disney musical has benefited from higher ticket prices than "Phantom."

Figures provided by the Broadway League show that the average ticket price for "The Lion King" was recently $155.09, compared with a recent average ticket price for "Phantom" of $98.97.

Lil Mogul is so PROUD of him!!!

I was backstage and on stage in NEW YORK CITY!!!

Burlesque - the movie

CHRISTINA AGUILERA

Cinematical has the movie poster for Burlesque starring Christina Aguilera and Cher. In the movie, Aguilera plays a small town girl with big town dreams who moves to L.A. where she gets a job as a waitress at The Burlesque Lounge with dreams of one day performing. Blah, blah, blah, she becomes a star. I’m sure you’ve heard the story a thousand times, since it as old as Cher. We’ll have to wait until November, however, to see if it has aged as well. Continue reading to check out the poster.

Ali (Christina Aguilera) is
a small-town girl with a big voice who escapes hardship and an uncertain future to follow her dreams to LA. After stumbling upon The Burlesque Lounge, a majestic but ailing theater that is home to an inspired musical revue, Ali lands a job as a cocktail waitress from Tess (Cher), the club’s proprietor and headliner. Burlesque’s outrageous costumes and bold choreography enrapture the young ingenue, who vows to perform there one day.

Soon enough, Ali builds a friendship with a featured dancer (Julianne Hough), finds an enemy in a troubled, jealous performer (Kristen Bell), and garners the affection of Jack (Cam Gigandet

), a bartender and fellow musician. With the help of a sharp-witted stage manager (Stanley Tucci) and gender-bending host (Alan Cumming), Ali makes her way from the bar to the stage. Her spectacular voice restores The Burlesque Lounge to its former glory, though not before a charismatic entrepreneur (Eric Dane) arrives with an enticing proposal…

Burlesque opens November 24th.
