Last night, I shared my story "Shadows & Lights" amongst a group of leaders, believers, dreamers and just great beings.  I am grateful and full of joy.  Much gratitude for the generosity and support.  WE are ALL same and that vibration was definitely present.  


Tonight I join Brave Soul Collective as we continue to "Turn the Tide" and inspire lives through live theater, dance, and music.

"Moments Of Truth"

Just months after our National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day performance which took place at Warehouse Theatre on February 7th, Brave Soul Collective (BSC) returns with an all new, full length performance of"Moments Of Truth: Healing Ourselves from the Inside Out" on Saturday June 30th at 9pm.
Through theatre, spoken word, and personal testimonials, BSC will entertain, educate and enlighten individuals about a host of topics & issues including love, relationships, sexuality, self esteem, body image, & mental health. The evening of artistic performances also as BSC's artistic contribution to the continued fight against HIV/AIDS. It is presented to help mobilize the African American community around HIV/AIDS education & awareness; reduce stigma and infection rates; and to reinforce the importance of assuming personal responsibility for individual choices that affect collective mental health and wellness.

The performance serves as BSC’s 3rd annual appearance at the DC Black Theater Festival, after presenting the production “Smoke Screens” - a highlight of last year's festival.

Following a successful performance during last year's Inaugural DC Black Theatre Festival with "Aesthetics", Brave Soul Collective (BSC) returns with "Smoke Screens: The Lies We Tell Ourselves (& Everyone Else)"
On Saturday June 18th , BSC will present an evening of theatre, & spoken word performances that examine the many complexities of life & how we as human beings deal with, avoid, & manipulate the elements of TRUTH & HONESTY.

The theatrical pieces performed as part of "Smoke Screens" will touch on a variety of topics & hot button issues such as love, sex, relationships, sexuality, HIV/AIDS, gender, & identity.

BSC, which celebrates its 5 year anniversary this month is honored to be one of the few LGBTQ performing arts organizations participating in the second annual DC Black Theatre Festival.

"Smoke Screens" will feature original works written by playwrights Dyron Holmes, Rashad Moody, Jared Shamberger as well as the premiere of a new piece written by DC Black Theatre Festival Executive Director Glenn Alan which is directed by Alan Sharpe (ACT).

Following a successful performance during this year’s in Baltimore nearly two months ago, Brave Soul Collective (BSC) returns to Washington, DC next month with “AESTHETICS: Perception…(& the Eye of the Beholder)”. On Saturday August 7^th , BSC will present an afternoon of artistic offerings which will include theatre & spoken word performances, that examine the subject of BEAUTY. Cleverly subtitled “Perception…(& the Eye of the Beholder)” this show’s featured performances will examine the various ways individuals go about the business of identifying, glorifying, and associating themselves with that which we refer to as beautiful. “AESTHETICS” will also serve as BSC’s premiere performance as part of the Inaugural DC Black Theatre festival which promises to be a historic event, showcasing the talents of individuals from the local Washington DC Metropolitan area African-American theatre arts community.

The show will feature new and original works by playwrights , Dyron Holmes, Rashad Moody & Jared Shamberger. Also returning for a second time to perform with BSC is DC native, Cornelius Jones Jr. (Broadway’s The Lion King and FlagBoy). BSC will also have a “BraveSoulGiveaway” of a special BSC gift bag which will include tickets to exclusive upcoming concerts and events in the DC metropolitan area as well as some other great gifts. Raffle tickets for the “BraveSoulGiveaway” can be purchased on the day of the event (CASH ONLY).
