President Bill Clinton hosts the Fifth Annual Meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), an event that will bring together global leaders from business, government, academia, science, religion, and non-governmental organizations, including numerous heads of state, former heads of state, CEOs of multinational corporations, and prominent philanthropists. CGI is a forum for participants to develop and then implement workable solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges.
Jacob Lief, President & Founder of Ubuntu Education Fund will be attending the Clinton Global Initiative this week and Ubuntu Education Fund will be highlighted by announcement at one of the working sessions. Ubuntu was one of only four organizations chosen to receive this honor. The announcement will be part of a cluster emphasizing Access to Education. This is a testament to the success of the Ubuntu model which focuses on stabilizing the households of vulnerable children in order to allow children to concentrate in their education.

Ubuntu's Zethu Ngceza and Fezeka Mzalazala share the stage with former President Bill Clinton at the 2007 Clinton Global Initiative mid-year meeting. As part of her talk, Zethu (Ubuntu student) made her own commitment to return to Port Elizabeth and start a support group at her school for young girls orphaned by HIV/AIDS. This commitment, signed on stage with President Clinton, brought the audience to a standing ovation.
