Root Beer With An Edge (and 80-Proof)

You like your current root beer.

It's refreshing, it's sweet, and curiously, it pairs extremely well with pizza.

On this scorcher of a day, we don't want you to change that relationship. Rather, we'd like to suggest something similar to root beer but yet different. Very different. It's called ROOT, as in root beer, but more potent thanks to an 80-proof recipe.

To understand the genius behind this new, artisanally-produced, root liqueur, it helps to know a little root beer history (perfect for your next trivia night). Back in the 1700s, Native Americans introduced settlers to Root Tea, a root beer-like concoction. Over time, Root Tea evolved and became more potent, particularly in Pennsylvania, where the ingredients grew in abundance. During the Temperance Movement, a Philadelphia pharmacist removed the booze and ironically rechristened it... Root Beer.

Now, thanks to the clever nostalgists behind Hendricks Gin, ROOT has been reborn using all natural and organic ingredients, like pure cane sugar, spearmint, anise, birch bark, cloves, cardamom, and citrus. The result is a bourbon-like, rich smoky flavor that mixes well in cocktails and packs an alcohol volume of 40%.

Done right, it also makes for an impressive root beer float.
With a grown-up slant, of course…
YOU ARE WHAT YOU DRINK!!!
