Byron Lars in Sony 3D - 2011 Spring/Summer Fashion Collection

BYRON LARS BEAUTY MARK Spring/Summer 2011 Collection in Sony 3D

Hardware. Software. Ready to Wear.

For two decades, famed fashion designer Byron Lars has showcased out of the box thinking and craftsmanship. On Friday, September 10, 2010 during New York’s annual Fashion’s Night Out, he will project his fashion sensibilities literally by collaborating with technology titan SONY Electronics in 37 Sony stores across the US. The partnership, presented at Sony's flagship Manhattan Sony Style Store, will make the Beauty Mark S/S 2011 Collection seem to leap out of the box, by featuring it in Sony 3D.

Byron Lars Beauty Mark will offer attendees a new look at both fashion and technology at the height of innovation, “Byron Lars in Sony 3D.” Innovation for the designer means channeling the roots of fashion in its most elaborate yet practical sense.

This season Lars explores many classic American themes reinterpreted with a slightly tribal sensibility, resulting in what the house refers to as "twisted classicism". Sony Bravia 3D HDTV & Sony NEX-5 Camera will directly connect the tactile with the technological against a backdrop of one of the country's most technologically advanced lifestyle boutiques.

“We are extremely excited to be a part of Byron’s S/S 2011 collection. Sony’s cutting edge 3D technology is setting the stage for the way that viewers experience events. Merging this technology with the fashion world presents an amazing experience for fashion and technology enthusiasts,” says Linda Turner, Senior Vice President, Direct Retail – Sony Electronics.

Byron's clothes have faithful fans ranging from young Hollywood trend setter, Kim Kardashian to big screen starlets Jessica Biel, Dakota and Elle Fanning and now even First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. These names show how his clothes intrigue women of all age groups with their stellar construction and earthly price point.

“Sony Bravia 3D HDTV and the NEX-5 camera have really upped the ante in fashion photography now. I'm absolutely thrilled that my clothes were chosen to be a part of this ground breaking technology,” says Lars.

Fashion Night Out 2010

To build up even more hype around the second annual Fashion's Night Out, the powers that be behind the big event have released an enthusiastic campaign featuring a bevy of top models.

Directed by iconic fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, the video shows 14 models in neighborhoods across New York City encouraging folks to shop Sept. 10 and support the fashion industry.

Vogue contributing editor Tabitha Simmons pulled fall's hottest looks and pieces from the Fashion's Night Out official apparel collection for the group, which includes Victoria's Secret stunners Miranda Kerr (who just announced her pregnancy), Karolina Kurkova, Doutzen Kroes, and Chanel Iman, as well as Lara Stone, Liya Kebede, Karlie Kloss, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Stella Tennant, Lily Donaldson, Jourdan Dunn, Sasha Pivovarova, Joan Smalls, and Caroline Trentini.

The PSA will be plastered all over New York -- in taxi cabs, television commercials, and online -- leading up to the event.

GLO TV plugs in on September 3rd

GLO TV Network, the world’s only television network catering to the Urban LGBT community and it's allies, premieres Friday September 3rd 2010. To kick-off the event, GLO TV will host several events during Black Gay Pride in Atlanta, GA, culminating in a sneak preview of network’s biggest shows including: The Debut of Maurice Jamal’s “Friends & Lovers”, “Dating Dwight”, “Christopher Street”, “Gayest Sh-t Ever”, “Sex:2010”, "Living Life" and "Being Legendary" among more than 12 programs that will debut over Labor Day weekend.

“It is a long time coming, and something that the Urban LBGT community has wanted and deserves” said GLO TV President and filmmaker Maurice Jamal. “The premiere of this network is a labor of love rooted in the notion of providing a wide array of programming that shows our us in all our vibrant colors.”

Founded in 2010, GLO TV Network was the vision of Jamal, then the award-winning director of “Ski Trip” and “Dirty Laundry” who partnered with several key people in the entertainment and business world to create a network with wide ranging impacts. “This really is the People's Network,” Jamal said. “All across the country, I would meet people who wanted to see their experiences reflected on TV. The community asked for a place where they could see their loves, lives, challenges and success stories, and we took up that challenge“.

The network will be available through the web, cable and on-demand. It will debut first in the online space, and is a perfect place for the network, Jamal adds. "GLO TV is for everyone, so it was vital that anyone can turn us on, anywhere, anytime. The web allows us to deliver the first true TV network, to the whole nation, which is affordable, accessible and relevant".

“GLO is more than amazing TV programming, we have articles, national correspondents, news, and anything our community would be interested in seeing or knowing about. We want to be the one stop shop for the Urban LGBT community.”
